Privacy Policy

Overview

This is a summary of how Deen Routine handles your information. Deen Routine is built to work almost entirely on your device: your prayer times, Quran progress, dhikr counts, bookmarks, and preferences are stored locally and are not collected by us. The sections below explain the few places data does leave your device, and why. Last updated: August 2026.

Information We Collect

Deen Routine does not require an account, and we do not collect your name, email address, or any other identifying information to use the app. The only personal information the app requests is your location, which you can provide by choosing your city manually or by allowing the app to detect it once during setup. If you allow location detection, Deen Routine only accesses it while the app is open and in use — it does not track your location in the background. Everything else — your chosen reciter, translation, prayer calculation method, saved bookmarks, dhikr counts, and reminder settings — is information you enter directly and is stored only on your device.

How Your Information Is Used

Your location is used solely to calculate accurate prayer times and the qibla direction for where you are. Your other preferences are used solely to run the features you choose — for example, remembering your last read page or your preferred reciter. Deen Routine does not use your information for advertising, does not build a profile of your activity, and does not sell or rent your information to anyone.

Where Your Information Is Stored

Your prayer settings, saved bookmarks, dhikr history, and preferences are stored in a database on your device, not on our servers. If you have iCloud or another device backup service enabled, this data may be included in your regular device backups, the same way any other app's local data would be — Deen Routine does not separately transmit it anywhere.

Third-Party Services

Quran recitation audio is streamed from Quran.com's servers when you choose to listen to a reciter, so your device connects directly to their servers to play that audio; this is governed by Quran.com's own terms, not ours. App updates are delivered through Expo's update service, which your device may check in with when the app opens. We do not use any advertising networks, analytics trackers, or social media integrations.

Focus and App Limits

If you use Deen Routine's app-limiting feature, it works through Apple's on-device Screen Time (Family Controls) system. Which apps you choose to limit, and when, is managed entirely by iOS on your device — Deen Routine does not receive, see, or store that information.

Purchases

If you buy Deen Routine Plus, the payment is handled entirely by Apple through your App Store account. Deen Routine never sees your payment details, and your entitlement is checked on your device against the App Store — we run no account system and no purchase server, and we receive no personal information about you from a purchase.

Notifications

Prayer reminders and the call to prayer are scheduled and delivered by your device directly, using the times Deen Routine calculates locally. We do not use a push notification service, so no message is sent from any server to trigger a reminder — your device handles it entirely on its own.

Your Choices and Control

You can change or revoke the location permission at any time in your device's Settings. Because your data is stored only on your device, uninstalling Deen Routine removes it. If you have questions about your information or want help with anything data-related, contact us using the details below.

Children's Privacy

Deen Routine is intended for a general audience and is not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. If we make a significant change to how your information is handled, we will update this page and, where appropriate, let you know within the app.
